Microgreens

Types:     Arugula microgreens

Delicate microgreens with the same distinctive peppery flavour of grown up arugula.

   Broccoli microgreens

Our most popular microgreen! These  are delicate microgreens that have a mild spiciness with the flavour of raw         broccoli

   Buckwheat shoots

Pink stems make these shoots extra beautiful.  The flavour is similar to lettuce, with a lemony twist.

   Pea shoots

Appease your taste for fresh peas any time of the year. These tender shoots are robust enough for stir fries and               pasta, as well as the usual salads and sandwiches.

   Radish shoots

Purple stems and spicy flavour will add a kick wherever you use them.

   Sunflower shoots

These succulent, crunchy shoots have a flavour reminiscent of sunflower seeds.

Storage: In the fridge, stored in a bag or tupperware type container.

  Arugula microgreens: 1 week

  Buckwheat shoots: 10+ days

  Pea shoots: 2 weeks

        Radish shoots:  2 weeks

  Sunflower shoots: 2+ weeks

Tips: All microgreens and shoots are great in salads, sandwiches, wraps and as a garnish.  Add a piece of paper towel to the bag or container they are in to absorb moisture and prolong shelf life.

In 2012 researchers at the University of Maryland in the US found that microgreens contain 4-40 times more nutrients than the mature plants. Link here.
